What Is the AI Object Eraser?
The AI Object Eraser removes unwanted objects, people, text, or watermarks from a photo. Click the object you want gone, and two AI models — a Segment Anything segmentation model and an MI-GAN inpainting model — select it precisely and regenerate the area behind it.
Both models run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly, so the tool is free, unlimited, and private: your photos never leave your device.
How to Erase an Object from a Photo
Follow these steps:
- Upload or drop a photo onto the page.
- Click “Analyze image”. On the first run the AI models are downloaded and cached — this happens only once.
- Click on the object you want to remove. Each click adds to the selection (green dots).
- If the selection includes background you want to keep, hold Shift and click it (red dot) to exclude it.
- Keep adding points until the magenta overlay covers the whole object, then click “Erase Object”.
- Wait a few seconds, compare the before and after, and download the result as a PNG.
Tips for the Best Results
- Objects with clean edges surrounded by fairly uniform background erase most convincingly.
- Click on the center of the object first — that gives the AI the clearest signal about what to select.
- For very large objects, erase in two passes: remove one part, then click the remaining part on the fresh result.
- In complex scenes, hold Shift and click background areas that get wrongly selected to keep them intact.
