The Face Crop tool detects every face in a photo automatically and crops each one into a square image centered on the face, with optional padding.

How to Crop Faces

Follow these steps:

  • Drop or upload a photo with one or more faces.
  • Adjust the padding slider to control how much space surrounds each face.
  • Click Detect & Crop Faces — the preview shows the detected boxes.
  • Download crops one by one, or save everything as a ZIP.

Tips

  • The model handles front, side, and profile faces well.
  • Increase padding if you want the head and shoulders included.
  • Faces smaller than about 10% of the image height may not be detected.

How does the auto face crop work?+
The tool uses the MediaPipe BlazeFace model to locate every face, then crops a square region centered on each face. You can add extra padding around the face with the slider.

How do I control the crop size?+
Use the Padding slider to add space around the face. A padding of 50% usually frames the head and shoulders nicely.
