What Is the White Balance Tool?

The White Balance tool automatically corrects color casts in photos — a quick fix for shots taken with incorrect white balance settings.

It uses the gray-world algorithm to analyze the colors of the whole image and automatically computes and applies the correction, with no need to pick a gray point or adjust color temperature manually.

How to Correct White Balance

Follow these steps:

  • Drop or upload a photo with a color cast.
  • Adjust the strength as needed (100% by default).
  • Click Correct White Balance to see the result.
  • Download the corrected image as a PNG file.

Tips

  • For strong color casts, keep the strength at 100%.
  • Images dominated by a single color (e.g. a solid red background) may not correct well.
  • Pair with Auto Contrast afterwards to further improve the look.

White balance is the process of removing color casts from photos. Different light sources have different color temperatures, which can make photos look yellowish, bluish, or greenish. White balance correction makes white objects appear white in the photo.
