What is a Whois lookup?
A domain Whois lookup is a free tool for viewing a domain's public registration data: registrar, creation and expiry dates, domain status, DNS servers and more. It uses RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) — the modern standard replacing Whois — to fetch authoritative data directly from each registry.
How to use
Enter a domain (e.g. example.com) in the input box and click Look up. The tool automatically strips http://, www. prefixes and lowercases it.
Results are shown field by field: domain, status, created/updated dates, expiry, DNSSEC, registrar, registrant and DNS servers. Click the copy button next to any field to copy it.
About RDAP
RDAP is the structured JSON replacement for Whois, mandated by ICANN since 2018. This tool routes to the correct registry's RDAP server via the rdap.org bootstrap service.
