What is a live wallpaper generator?
A live wallpaper generator creates animated video backgrounds instead of static images. This tool renders twelve generative 3D scenes — a spiral galaxy, flowing waves, a rotating geometry field, drifting nebulae, a dotted planet, a neon ring tunnel, waving auroras, wandering fireflies, a quiet snowfall, cascading code rain, a retro synth grid and a night rain shower — and encodes them into a looping MP4 or WebM video you can set as your desktop or phone wallpaper.
Every scene is built from whole rotations and whole wave cycles, which makes the first and last frame identical: the video loops seamlessly. The same seed always rebuilds the same scene, so results are reproducible and shareable.
Twelve animated scenes
Switch scenes with the buttons above the canvas:
- Galaxy — a spiral particle galaxy with differential ring rotation and a soft core glow.
- Waves — a flowing wave field with palette-mapped colors, a fog horizon and a gentle camera sway.
- Geometry — a floating grid of rotating icosahedrons and torus rings with metallic shading.
- Nebula — drifting gas clouds made of soft additive particles that pulse gently in place.
- Globe — a dotted fibonacci planet with a wireframe shell, atmosphere glow and a counter-rotating starfield.
- Tunnel — neon rings streaming toward the camera with per-ring spin, a subtle pulse and a bright far-end glow.
- Aurora — luminous curtains of light waving over a starry sky with additive color gradients.
- Fireflies — glowing particles drifting on lissajous paths, gently pulsing in the dark.
- Snow — a quiet snowfall of drifting flakes wrapping seamlessly from top to bottom.
- Code Rain — cascading columns of glowing glyphs streaming down like in a cyber classic.
- Synth Grid — a retro neon grid racing toward a glowing sun on the horizon.
- Rain — slanted streaks of night rain falling fast through the fog.
How to create a live wallpaper
- Pick a scene: Galaxy, Waves, Geometry, Nebula, Globe, Tunnel, Aurora, Fireflies, Snow, Code Rain, Synth Grid or Rain.
- Choose a color palette swatch or define up to four custom colors.
- Roll a random seed with the dice button, or type a seed to reproduce a previous scene.
- Select a size preset for desktop, phone or tablet, plus the loop duration and frame rate.
- Click the export button to render the MP4 video frame by frame, then set it as your live wallpaper in a wallpaper engine app. Use the poster button for a matching still PNG.
Tips
- On most GPUs MP4 export is faster than realtime — a 10-second 1080p loop typically renders in a few seconds.
- For battery-friendly phone wallpapers, prefer 30 fps and a 5-second loop.
- Dark palettes make desktop icons easier to read; keep brightness low for always-on displays.
- If the export button shows WebM, your browser lacks WebCodecs — Chrome, Edge or Safari 16.4+ will produce MP4.
